Are you Sugar Addict?...

We Help You in Getting Rid Of It

Most Americans are addicted to sugar. Some don’t even know the amount of sugar they are consuming because it is hidden in so many foods with a variety of different names. Sugar causes a multitude of physical ailments from headaches and chronic infections to crankiness and mood swings. Let’s examine sugar, how it affects the body and how we can deconstruct our cravings and reduce them so that we can feel better.

Sugar comes from two different places, sugar cane and beets. From both plants the juice is extracted, crystallized, cleaned and processed so that the end result is the white stuff you see at every restaurant and dinner table around the world. Simple table sugar is made up sucrose, a simple sugar that burns quickly when it enters the body. When we eat these simple sugars, a few reactions occur in the body.

The first place the sugar goes is into your digestive system. Because sugar is processed down to one molecule, it is missing all of the vitamins and minerals the body needs to digest it. In order for the body to process sugar it must release its own stores of vitamins and minerals to aid in digestion. Sugar robs the body of essential vitamins and minerals that it needs.

When foods are digested , they are broken down and the nutrients are moved into the bloodstream. Because sugar is made of only one substance it breaks down rapidly and moves quickly into the bloodstream.

Sugar in the blood triggers the production of insulin by the pancreas. Insulin is a hormone that moves sugar out of the blood as it binds with receptors in the body. On average, Americans consume about 150 pounds of sugar per person, per year.

This excess sugar is stored in fat, which is why we gain weight from eating sugar. However, there is another reason that sugar causes weight gain. When the pancreas is producing insulin, it cannot produce another hormone called glucagons, which is responsible for telling the body to release and burn fat stores for energy. So your body grows its fat stores and prevents them from being burned for energy when you eat sugar.

Sugar is not the problem as much as is the solution to sugar cravings. Cravings are caused by the excess amounts of sugar we typically consume. Constant exposure to excess sugar causes the body to overproduce insulin. This excess insulin causes the blood sugar to drop to low , which then triggers the body to crave sugar, which at this point it needs. So you eat some sugar and the whole cycle starts again. This sugar cycle is the high burst of energy we get from eating sugar followed by the crash and burn later.

There is no need to feel bad about any lack of will power when it comes to sugar because it is highly addictive. Trying to stop eating sugar is as hard as quitting smoking or drinking coffee, so cut yourself some slack and check out these ways to curb your sugar cravings. Reduce the amount of sugar you consume – the less you eat, the less you crave. Soda and juice are high in sugar so read your labels carefully.

· Eat some sweet vegetables. Root vegetables like yams, sweet potato, carrots, beets and onions provide a sweet flavor that satisfies the palate, reducing your craving for a sweet dessert.

· Eat some leafy green vegetables to replenish the vitamins and minerals you have been losing to sugar.

· Drink more water! We often mistake thirst for hunger. The next time when a craving strikes, drink some water and see how do you feel?

Gain awareness of the many names of sugar as they appear on food tables. Sugar is called fructose, maltose, dextrose, cane sugar, organic sugar, brown sugar, raw sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and corn syrup just to name a few.

Remember that processed foods act like sugar in the body, so stay away from white bread, white pasta and white rice when you are trying to reduce the amount of sugar you consume. Replace these with whole grain versions for a slower burning food.

Stay away from artificial sweetener! Aside from being a chemical and not a food, artificial sweeteners are much sweeter than regular sugar. Studies have shown that zero calorie sweeteners cause weight gain by tricking the body into thinking that they are the real sweet. Because artificial sweeteners are much sweeter than sugar, people overeat when exposed to sugar, trying to reach the sweetness of the fake.

Try natural sweeteners like raw honey, maple syrup or agaves nectar in place of sugar. These sweeteners are less processed than sugar and still have their nutrients intact. Although they have calories like sugar, they do not cause weight gain as quickly because they burn more slowly in the body.

If you want a zero calorie sweetener, try stevia leaf, an herbal supplement that is extremely sweet and can be found in your local health food store.

By understanding the way that sugar affects the body, we can make smarter decisions about the foods we eat and avoid getting caught in the sugar spin cycle. Side effects from reducing sugar include weight loss, better mood, more energy, better skin, hair, and nails, and a healthier, happier you.

John Chow. . . . Another Mow (Maotzetung)

I don’t know much about the national hero of China Maotzetung often called chair man Mao but I’m sure that John Chow is really as great as Mao of China. Don’t mistake it as a flattery or buttering message because these words of mine have a logical basis and I can justify it on sound grounds.

My knowledge about chair man Mao is not as much because when his revolution was on its swing I was just a lad … ten years old. My mom told us (me and my other sisters and brother) about the current situation of politics in China that how Mao and his party got a tremendous lead over their opponents. Every week or may be every month we received a periodical “China (Illustrated)” , studied the magazine, amused with the colorful pictures and after a month I cut all beautiful pictures from the magazine and pasted in my hand made album. It was my hobby to update the album with the pictures from the magazine. At the same time I had made a great picture of Mr. Mao in my mind…. A big diplomat, a big leader with a big personality to lead his nation to a big cause… freedom, independency, industrialism and above all converting his nation into a hardworking nation, and all these factors constitute a big cause.

In the perspective of Mr. Mao’s great picture when I place Mr. Chow with him I feel that Mr. Chow is also a big one because ….

1- Mr, Chow is a teacher who teaches us lessons how to earn and make a good lilving.

2- He leads us towards an independent, peaceful and prosperous life.

3- He explores a new world of online job, an e-business and provides us different gadgets and techniques to approach our target.

4- Above all the most important, unbelievable and strange to me is that he reveals secrets of this field to the novice toddlers.

Though I am a novice also yet under the torching leadership of Mr. Chow I have started my journey to this jungle still unexplored to me. Before downloading “Make Money Online With John Chow dot com” I thought that this site may be similar to that of many other money grabbers. I never visited this site even after some friends suggested me to visit the site. But one day accidentally I opened the site and hesitantly I typed my email address. At the second moment I was crawling towards my inbox. I stealthily clicked on the John Chow’s email, downloaded the attachment and instead of studying on the monitor I got the print out of the file. I don’t know why I did all this. At knight I started studying the print outs and went on studying …I was chewing the sentences, trying to digest them, underlining important lines…It was tremendous, unbelievable…too true to be false. However, I could see the light of truth in it and above all I could see my future bright. Thanks to John Chow.

If you are working on “On-line Money Making at Home” then I suggest you to once study and if you want to earn money at home but you don’t know how to. I advise you to visit John chow dot com, download the file and instead of studying the print outs, peruse them. And then you will surly conclude that I am right to say “John Chow another Mao”.

Ultimetely Riches Turn to You

My grandpa was a rich man, a big landlord and owned many businesses. All it was seventy years ago. In the evening he collected all his money in the form of currency notes, made bundles, stuffed in wooden cartons and railed away down the beds, big tables and huge metallic trunks because the did not trust in banks though he received a big fare from a bank that was situated in one of his own buildings in the supermarket in the heart of the city. His wealth was accumulating rapidly but … then… unfortunately my grandma died and my father who was the only son was left alone.
Grandpa had to get married and a step-grandma stepped in the Haveli (mansion) and started bearing baby after baby (my step uncles and aunts) and my father was getting ignored. Grandpa, to save and utilize his money started purchasing land in the urban and suburban areas of the city but soon he thought that in this way his wealth would be noticed by his relatives and other people. So he drove to far away cities for this purpose. Soon he bought a floor mill then a petrol filling station, and then a huge area of fertile land where in a portion he made a big cattle farm. He said that he made the farm for his grandson (me) to provide fresh and pure milk in unlimited quantity. On the other hand the step grandma started contriving plans to deprive her stepson (my father) of the property. Her children had now grown up enough to help her in her plan and started inculcating them difference between them and her step brother. Her venomous lectures did the job and thus she succeeded in her plan. My grandpa died without making any will and my father was left alone with even no penny in his pocket in spite of a huge portion of inherited property.
For him it was to start life from scratch. My father started teaching and at the same time he increased his education level by studying all the time, day and night for many years But in this way I was ignored altogether and my one brother and two sisters too. I got education but very poor way and other brother and sisters could not get good education due to this ignoring poor situation.
Meanwhile I got in love with a girl and we got married but I had no job or any profession --- a very poor and crucial situation --- Ten years elapsed and I had got two lovely daughters. Due to my poverty and plight condition my parents enforced me to leave away my wife and children and to let her go to her parents and I did it … how heinous step on my part. Can you visualize the scene when I was deceiving my wife to leave her and my daughters? I did not tell any thing to my wife and came back to my parents stealthily. It was really a coward action. Soon after, I felt myself being neglected because of my joblessness. All of my courage, physical, mental, and intellectual qualities had subdued and I was feeling helpless and crippled before my circumstances.
Poverty, joblessness dependency are the cruelest factors of life. It was an unforgivable sin, and inhuman crime. A poor, jobless, dependent person is the most dishonest, mean, coward and abominable one on earth.
Then one of my friends, the only friend, advised me to give some time on internet to know some means of earning money on internet. I borrowed computer from my sister, money from another friend for internet accessories and started job. First I was disappointed but then a beam of hope encouraged me that there is something possible. After a strenuous struggle I succeeded to discover ways of earning money at home on internet.
Though it’s my start but after all I ‘v started my earnings now. Although not a huge earning as my grand father did, because it is just a start, yet I’m sure, I’m going to make thousands of dollars per week. Every week my earning is getting multiplied but it needs planning, struggle and above all a passionate, loyal and true supporting love of wife. Now I’m going to purchase a sweet home with a small car and all other necessaries to live a comfortable life with a perfect and complete family because I’ve got a son also.
Though my home is not as much luxurious as other money making gurus proclaim who suggest earning money on line and getting huge benefits like, luxurious oasis in an Arabian desert or a big ship to sail in Mediterranean Sea or spending vacation at Iceland in the Pacific Ocean or enjoying a trip with your family at K-2 hills. But I don’t think so. It may be possible, because anything may be difficult but not impossible, however, takes time, sacrifice and hard work. To be a millionaire overnight is just a dream at night because every millionaire has sacrificed a number of restful nights, friendly companies, dating with beautiful girls and ladies and many many more, then after years a night comes that makes him millionaire.
If you want to be a millionaire (that may be rather difficult but not impossible) and above all a trustworthy, honest, independent and loving personality just act upon the rules as I did and enjoy a millionaire’s knighthood because I am also going to be the one very soon.
Be sure that it is my personal experience and proof is me myself, so I suggest you to be an Ad Sense player, this is the secret... the only secret.

History of Taste… Chocolate

Note: I try my best to gift you selected information on different topics. This article is also one of my humble efforts. Your comments would be encouraging for me.

1502 was the first date of importance for Europe in getting acquainted with cocoa and chocolate. It was the adventurous time of the Spanish conquistadores with Christopher Columbus the first to set sail to the new world. When he reached the island of Guanaja, close to Honduras, the local people went part to the way by proa to meet him, their boats loaded with cocoa beans. As they offered their precious gift to Columbus, some of the beans fell into the water. The Mexicans dived into to the water to save the beans as if they were the most precious items in the world. When chocolate arrived on the European continent, it was first regarded as a medicine, rather than as a delicious foodstuff. Another example of this medicinal classification of chocolate is found in the first publication of the recipe for chocolate made by the Spanish doctor Antonio Colmenero de Ledesma in 1631. In the 17th century, the cocoa plantations became over-cultured which exhausted the soil. When, in the 18th century, empiric scientists like Pascal and others laid the basis of modern science, the medical potential of chocolate faded into the background while its nutritious and delicious values gained ground.

Many chocolate museums today show beautiful collections of 18th century chocolate China. Until the beginning of the 20th century, chocolate remained the exclusive privilege of the rich and famous. Chocolate remained extremely expensive due to very high cocoa and sugar prices in the 19th century.

Around 1900, the price of the two main ingredients for chocolate, cocoa and sugar, dropped tremendously. From the early 1820’s the UK had developed quite a unique chocolate, taste and flavour. Their chocolate was dark and very often combined with strong, pronounced flavours like mint cream, rose & violet cream, ginger…

The beginning of the 20th century announced the boom in industrialization of chocolate production all over Europe and the US, Belgium seemed to be at the cutting edge of innovation, fast production technology and new marketing techniques, compared to the rest of Europe. Another Belgian invention in the 1920’s was the chocolate bar.

From World War II until today, the differences in chocolate consumption volumes between labourers, clerks and the highest income groups have almost disappeared. The end of the nineties and the beginning of the 21st century gave a new impulse to chocolate. Scientific studies on cocoa and chocolate have already revealed a lot of potential benefits from moderate consumption of cocoa and chocolate and there is more expected.

One also views and understands the process of making handmade chocolates through pictorial description. ‘Did you know’ emphasizes the healthy importance of chocolate. Thanks to its stunning taste, chocolate has become one of the favourite foodstuffs of a huge number of consumers. It evokes emotional values: enjoyment, indulgence and taste, Chocolate contains a combination of sugars and fats that can make you feel good during and after consumption. Cocoa and dark chocolate contain no cholesterol. Milk chocolate and white chocolate contain only minimal quantities due to the added mild fats.

The ‘Products’ and ‘Login’ sections highlight variety of tasty chocolates and subscription and shipping services.

www.brownes.co.uk supply numerous well-known retail outlets and other trade, wholesale and caters to customers around the UK.

So if you are craving for a big box of chocolates choose from varieties of hand-made chocolate truffles at http://www.brownes.co.uk . One of them is bound to prove irresistible for you.

How Women Define ‘Man’

Note: This is an extract from a magazine with an intention to provide you interesting and informative material as a gift. Read it and send your comments that how much interesting and informative it proved.

The question is what do women really want? The answer is a complete package. What is in a complete package?

Qualities that a women look for in men: Ambitious, strong and assertive

An ambitious man is a successful man because he is striving for the best no matter what his goal are? Strength does not necessitate muscles but inner strength. He is able to reach inside, draw from that strength when it is needed and share it if the need arises. He goes after what he wants without stepping on feet or toes but maneuvers around them.

Responsible

He knows his responsibilities and owns up to them, whether it is family, work, and commitments. A man recognizes that mistakes are a part of life. He admits to them doesn’t blame others or make excuses for his inconsistencies. He learns from them and acts accordingly.

Understanding

Recognizes that no one is perfect, including himself, encourages communication efforts to resolve important issues. Realizes the final say does not have to go one way (especially his way) or another, but knows that a compromise is always a possibility.

In tune to himself

He has self-awareness spiritually and mentally. He loves self, takes care of himself but is able to love others as well. He can hold a decent conversation with anyone and he knows how to express himself in any given conversation. He is respected by others and recognizes that in order to get respect, you have to give it. He can accept constructive criticism without taking it personally and recognizes that opinion is individual and each is entitled to his or hers.

Compassion

He is unselfish and caring of others around him. He is neither self-centered not egotistical. He thinks of others, and the feelings of others. Men are told from day one that men are not supposed to cry because it is a display weakness. Crying makes them human and it has nothing to do with strength. It has to do with feeling. The lack of fear in showing true feelings constitutes strength and courage.

Relationship and Love

- He is caring giving, honest, loyal and respects the lady in his life.

- He is willing to work things out together.

- He respects his mate as his other half.\

- He knows that sharing is essential, good bad whatever.

- The word commitment is not taken lightly and he doesn’t make one unless he is sure that is what he wants to do. He will be the first to admit it.

- The woman in his life is there to support and encourage. He appreciates it and shows it.

- Women love compliments, doors opened and chairs pulled out for us.

- A little pampering does a body good. For example: a little massage after a tiring day.

- He recognizes that politeness is not dead. He is a gentleman. He does not take for granted he is loved. He expresses it and let his woman know that he loves her as well.

- Love is appreciated and not taken lightly. The work needed to maintain a relationship is done willingly and cooperatively.

- The man you met is the man that should always be. Whether he changes or not can depend on you, but that’s another story…hummm.

A woman’s definition of man encompasses many definitions. Each woman has her own. Certainly this is not the end of the list, but it is a start. Some might say this is stupid and unrealistic – may be because I am a man and not a woman so how should I know about them with that much concrete way. I say that there is no perfection in anyone. To expect perfection, that is unrealistic but for someone to be human, loving, caring is very close.

Globalization & American Studies

Does globalization mean that we are condemned to lead our lives at the mercy of American corporations such as Microsoft, McDonalds and Coca-Cola? Is the totality of our culture shriveled to the depth of a Disney cartoon or a Hollywood blockbuster?

‘Whether we like it or not, America leads the way in the globalization process and there must b e considerable merit in knowing more about the structures shaping the environment in which we will live and work in the 21st century.’

The aim of this study is to provide a holistic approach to the study of the culture and society of America. Whatever your main interest – history, literature, geography, politics – you will have the opportunity to experience a broad-based range of options in American Studies. Added to this a reader will have the opportunity to study in one of an expanding number of universities in Canada or the United Sates.

Through American Studies you will learn to face the challenges of the ‘real’ world by expanding the knowledge and analytical skills as well as developing communication skills, both written and oral. These studies deal with the issues of importance to today’s students such as gender issues, race and ethnic relations, economic and political conditions, as well as exploring the impact of popular culture (films, music, etc.) on the development of American society.

If you are looking for a forward-thinking, exciting, and expanding program of study, then this is the real subject for you.

Am I Insomniac …?

I think I’m an insomniac. Am I right or just a superstition…I’m dubious about it because I can’t sleep before five a.m. Don’t know if it’s the uncountable cups of caffeinated drinks I consume throughout the day or the fact that I believe nights are my ‘me’ time.

Whatever the reason, I finally go to bed by five and sadly have to be up between 9:30 and 10 in the morning. Although my spouse follows the same sleep pattern, he’s got to leave for work by 10, as it takes him an hour to get to his factories at Gulberg.

While having our space cleaned, I consume two cups of tea, chat with the cleaners and go through the papers. After spending 10 minutes on what to wear …am I in business mood, editor mood or in a bohemian mood? I finally hit the shower…the one thing that actually wakes me up.

I am in the office by 11:45, almost 30 minutes before the rest of the staff arrives. I need this half hour to settle in, but the office boy/cleaner announces his list of ‘things to buy’, Harpic, phenyl, sponges; and we get into an argument about him wasting, because I only bought all this a week ago. There goes my ‘setting on’ time! I love doing what I do. In fact, it was always a dream to bring out my own magazine… but it’s this micro management that get on my nerves!

Staff walks in sharp at 12:15 and I with my creative director and my assistant editor immediately go into our Monday morning meeting. We are a fortnightly, which means lots of planning. The minute we hit the stands, we are already closing the nest issue…which means no time for BS!

During the meeting we work out our next issue. In the rough dummy, we add the happenings and the latest news, minus the crappy stuff (things that looked exciting a week ago, but sad now), discuss and draw the layouts and plan the shoots and interviews we need to line up. The meeting is over and done by 1:30 p.m.

I use my lunch break to go waxing at a salon! Being a working person at times is painful! Thankfully the office location is such that everything is close by; so I am done within 45 minutes.

I am back in the office and by 3:30 I am done checking and responding to emails. My next meeting is with a new photographer called Mario Lanzi.

After four years as the editor of a weekly magazine and another year as a vice president at Xinhuao a digital channel. I took a two year break to get married and then get used to the whole concept of ‘marriage’ and just chilling out. Coming back to print media is exciting because of the new talent out there. I dedicate two days a week to meeting new designers, photographers and models because we really need new blood in this business.

It is just a chew out of my activities of daily routine and if completely write down all my jobs I perform I’m sure you’ll think I am not a person but rather a jinni. I’m sure you might be suspecting on my statements but you may believe it or not I have to go through all of these. Now being a good critic or advisor or good friend, or what else, reviewing my timetable what do you suggest me what should I do? If you are a doctor then prescribe something for but it must be in herbal. Waiting from you….

Promotion THAI Land Airs

The word ‘Thigh’ arouses sensational feelings in the hearts of young men and ‘thighland’ may madden them but I am not talking about Thigh’s land but Thailand. Now be patient and study it calmly with your hearts throbbing normally.

THAI’s marketing and sales promotional efforts include a huge range of activities with annual expenditures of millions of dollars. The airline’s advertising and public relations campaigns cover the world, informing potential passengers about THI’s fascinating destinations and supplying information about specific ‘products’ such as new routes, Royal Orchid Holidays and Royal Orchid Plus frequent flyer programs.

Recent campaigns have also supported special events such as the annual Trang Underwater Wedding. The Colorful Lanna- style wedding ceremonies in Chiang Mai, and appealed to international golfers to experience Thailand’s wonderful courses by offering them special package tours.

Much of the airline’s promotional efforts is directed towards education, the informing of influential groups about the countless attractions of the kingdom. During 2005, for examples, THAI, in close cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, hotels and local tour operators, is inviting over 2,000 overseas travel agents, travel writers and TV teams to visit Thailand to experience its wonders for themselves. This campaign is resulting in massive worldwide publicity to boost the nation’s tourism industry and is helping, particularly to encourage visitors to those revitalized regions which were affected by the tsunami.

Another large scale promotion is THAI’s ‘Revisit Thailand Lucky Draw’, which is giving away 20,000 tickets to passengers on flights to and within Thailand. The lucky winners are able to return, with a free flight, from their homelands for another visit.

Special fare promotions have also been launched to encourage. Thais resident aboard to return home for vacations and to persuade passengers from, say Greece or Italy, to stop over in this country when they are traveling to Australia, or New Zealand, Another recent promotion offered a ‘Buy one, get one free’ incentive, for Executive Class passengers and special packages were created offering free flights to children traveling on vacation with their parents.

Beauty Lies in the Eyes ….

Beauty has a number of definitions and every one has ones own definition to explain. But after all, any definition it may be, it includes a specific sense of refinement, sophistication, delicacy, sensitivity, sublimity and all that touches to another persons mind, soul, thoughts and feelings. What do you think or what comes in your mind when the word Beauty is uttered before you. You may think anything but I’d like to express myself to expose my feelings, passions and sensations about Beauty. Because when any thing beautiful is exposed to me, either it is a beautiful thought, beautiful physical or material article or a living being … a beautiful baby, beautiful lady, beautiful old personality, a beautiful landscape, an old autumn beaten lifeless tree, a white wrinkled celectial face, I get impressed and driven to acctecy. Beauty has its own grandeure that bewilders a person. My faith is that there is no ugliness in the universe --- beauty is lying everywhere in the world. Peaple
think that lizard is the ugliest animal in the world or a crocodile is the most sinister living animal on the earth but I think that these animals play an important role in the definition of beauty. A very beautiful saying about it is that “Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder”. If we could not have a crocodile or a lizard we were altogether unaware of beauty. We must be thankful to these animals that by comparing these animals, we were able to feel beauty--- a universal heavenly divine existence on earth in the guise of beauty.
